
PACC participated in the “Intergovernmental Meeting on Enhancing the Use of Beneficial Ownership Information to Strengthen Asset Recovery” in Vienna, Austria.

During 14 – 15 April 2025, Mr. Bhumivisan Kasemsook, Secretary-General of the Office of Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC), attended the “Intergovernmental Meeting on Enhancing the Use of Beneficial Ownership Information to Strengthen Asset Recovery” in Vienna, Austria. The meeting organized under the auspices of the GlobE Network, brought together representatives from over 40 member countries. The objective of the meeting was to present progress reports, exchange good practices, and discuss the challenges related to the use of Beneficial Ownership (BO) information in tracing and recovering assets, especially in cross-border corruption cases. Participating countries also shared specific case studies, successful strategies, and key obstacles encountered in their respective jurisdictions.
On April 15, 2025, at 2.15 PM. (Thailand time), Mr. Bhumivisan Kasemsook was honored to be a panelist in Session 6 titled “Enhancing Asset Recovery through Beneficial Ownership Information.” He joined distinguished representatives from Australia, Spain, and Nigeria to discuss the role of BO transparency as a crucial policy tool in combating corruption and illicit financial flows. The discussion also emphasized the importance of international cooperation and enhancing the efficiency of cross-border asset recovery efforts.
During the session, the PACC Secretary-General highlighted Thailand’s initiatives and shared key case examples where inter-agency collaboration and the integration of BO data enabled successful asset tracing and led to the arrest of offenders. PACC’s participation as a member of the GlobE Network demonstrated its commitment to strengthening anti-corruption measures, law enforcement, and asset recovery operations. It also paved the way for deeper, more practical international cooperation in the fight against corruption.
