About PACC
Background
The government is primarily responsible for preventing and suppressing corruption among government agencies. Therefore, in 2001 and 2002, the Cabinet made resolutions to establish an administrative body to tackle corruption.
Office of Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) was established under the Executive Measures in Anti-Corruption Act. B.E. 2551 (2008) and the additional amendment. The Act defined the organizational structure of the administrative body for preventing and suppressing corruption in the government sector in two parts: the commission and the office, to carry out their duties and powers. The primary function is to inspect, prevent, and suppress corruption in government agencies to ensure that public administration is conducted with integrity and efficiency.
According to the Thai Government Gazette on February 18, 2025, the PACC received additional powers to handle misconduct cases. This scope covers actions that violate or fail to comply with laws, regulations, or rules related to the performance of duties by state officials.
