Summary of Executive Measures in Anti-Corruption Act. B.E. 2551 (2008) and the additional amendment
The Act has established the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) to prevent and investigate corruption among state officials. It outlines measures for asset disclosure, whistleblower protection, and penalties for corruption-related offenses. Amendments have strengthened PACC’s powers by enhancing investigation procedures, broadening the definition of corruption, and increasing penalties to ensure greater accountability and transparency in the public sector.
Currently, PACC has implemented improvements to the Act, which have been approved by the Cabinet and published in the Thai Royal Gazette in February 18, 2025. This revised version has granted additional powers to the PACC as it allows the PACC to handle misconduct cases with a scope covering actions or omissions that violate or fail to comply with laws, regulations, or rules regarding the performance of duties by state officials.
