PACC Welcomed Delegation from Bangladesh Anti-Corruption Commission and Asian Institute of Technology

On Wednesday, 3 September 2025, at 09:00 a.m., Mr. Bhumivisan Kasemsook, Secretary-General of the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC), together with the executives and officials, welcomed Mr. Md Arafat Rahman and a delegation of over 20 representatives from the Anti-Corruption Commission of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The study visit was part of the training and study programme on “Effective Anti-Corruption: Policy, Strategy and Practice (Batch I)” organised by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). The programme took place at Meeting Room 1, 28th Floor, PACC Office, Software Park Building, Chaeng Watthana Road, Nonthaburi.
On this occasion, the Secretary-General of the PACC delivered opening remarks and introduced the key roles and responsibilities of the Commission. As an administrative agency mandated to address corruption and misconduct in the public sector, the PACC was responsible for prevention, suppression, coordination and cooperation with relevant government agencies. He also introduced the Complaint Center, the Service Center for Investors and Foreigners, as well as key operational processes including investigation and fact-finding, consideration and determination of cases by the Commission, and referral to the Office of the Attorney General for prosecution.
In addition, PACC executives engaged in a constructive exchange with the delegation, responding to questions on various topics of interest. These included challenges posed by the use of information technology in corruption, PACC’s preventive measures at the early stages, sanctions for false information reported to authorities, witness protection mechanisms, and access to information during investigation and inquiry processes.
This exchange of views and experiences between the PACC and the Anti-Corruption Commission of Bangladesh was considered an important opportunity to further strengthen international cooperation in the field of anti-corruption and integrity.
