On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, the Secretary-General of the PACC assigned Pol. Lt. Col. Siriphong Sritula, Assistant Secretary-General of the PACC, who is also performing the duties of the Deputy Secretary-General of the PACC, to attend the opening ceremony of the Workshop for Drafting OECD instrument related to OECD accession process on Public Governance for Thailand. The PACC, together with Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC), has been entrusted to handle the OECD instruments on Public Governance, which took place at meeting rooms 501-502, 5th floor of the OPDC office.

Pol. Lt. Col. Siriphong Sritula emphasized to government agencies that the process of preparing the Initial Memorandum (IM), or the review and evaluation of relevant laws and practices, is an important starting point for enhancing Thailand's civil service system to ensure good governance, transparency, and accountability. This process will not only help build trust among the public and the international community but also serve as a key mechanism to strengthen the country's long-term competitiveness in the area of Public Governance. He further stated that government agencies must look beyond merely complying with laws and should focus on the quality of systems, including transparency, public participation, accountability, and the ethics of public officials. These elements are crucial in building a government that earns the public's trust.

While joining the OECD is an international goal, good governance is something that can be started immediately today. It should be a principle that all sectors of society adopt and apply seriously to help lead Thailand to progress, based on a foundation of trust from the public and sustainable acceptance from the global community.
