Under the direction of Mr. Bhumivisan Kasemsook, Secretary-General of the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC); Mr. Akkchai Kasemsuthawat, Deputy Secretary-General of the PACC; Pol.Lt.Col. Siripong Sritula, Deputy Secretary-General of the PACC; Police Lieutenant Colonel Sarawut Khamlueang, Director of Anti-Corruption Administration Division; and Police Major Chakrit Prachanphon, Director of the Witness Protection Administration Group, PACC officers were assigned to carry out the operation.

The PACC team, led by Acting Sub-Lieutenant Choosakul Sutthisrisin, Mr. Atthawat Pradenri, and Mr. Piyaphon Premyothin, coordinated with officers from Sawankhalok Police Station to locate and arrest Mr. Sunthorn (surname withheld), who was wanted under an arrest warrant issued by the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases, Region 6, Warrant No. 17/2569, dated 20 August 2026.

The case concerns alleged offenses committed during 2017–2018, when the suspect was a Grade 7 postal employee under Postal Region 5. He had been assigned as acting head of Tron Post Office in Uttaradit Province and served as a member of the committee responsible for safeguarding funds. Taking advantage of his official position, the suspect allegedly collected payments for domestic postal items sent under the Cash on Delivery (COD) service and domestic Express Mail Service (EMS) COD service but failed to remit the collected funds to the senders in accordance with the prescribed regulations. This occurred on 46 occasions, involving a total of THB 142,618. He also allegedly misappropriated THB 68,120 from the office safe, bringing the total amount involved to THB 210,738, which he allegedly appropriated for his own benefit without lawful authority.

Subsequently, the PACC resolved that there were grounds to establish the alleged misconduct. However, the accused failed to appear before the public prosecutor for the filing of charges with the court as scheduled. PACC officials therefore sought an arrest warrant to locate and apprehend him so that the case could proceed before the court.

Following an investigation, authorities learned that the suspect had been hiding at a residence in Sawankhalok District, Sukhothai Province. On 26 October 2026, PACC officers, working in coordination with officers from Sawankhalok Police Station, arrested the suspect and brought him before the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases, Region 6, for further legal proceedings.
