Bangkok, 13 October 2026 – H.E. Mr. Paradorn Prissananantakul, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, accompanied by Mr. Bhumivisan Kasemsook, Secretary-General of the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC), Pol. Lt. Col. Siripong Sritula, Deputy Secretary-General of the PACC, together with PACC executives and officials from relevant divisions, held discussions with Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, at 10:30 a.m. The meeting was held at the Parusakawan 2 Meeting Room, Metropolitan Police Bureau Headquarters, Dusit District, Bangkok.

The discussions focused on strengthening efforts to address negligence and failures by public officials to enforce laws governing entertainment venues and establishments operating in a manner similar to entertainment venues in the Bangkok Metropolitan Area.

The meeting aimed to review the Metropolitan Police Bureau’s previous operations and achievements in supervising, inspecting, and enforcing relevant laws and regulations. Particular attention was given to legal limitations and regulatory gaps affecting the oversight of entertainment venues and similar establishments. It was noted that certain existing laws and regulations had not kept pace with evolving business models and operating practices, which had created challenges for responsible authorities in carrying out their duties and ensuring effective law enforcement.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of using the outcomes of the discussions as key inputs for subsequent consultations with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). These consultations were intended to identify practical approaches to strengthening inter-agency coordination and cooperation, as well as to propose improvements to relevant laws, regulations, and enforcement measures. The proposed measures were aimed at addressing regulatory loopholes, reducing overlapping responsibilities and ambiguities in the exercise of legal authority, and enhancing the effectiveness of regulatory oversight of entertainment establishments.

The discussions formed part of the Royal Thai Government’s broader efforts to strengthen law enforcement standards, prevent negligence and dereliction of duty among public officials, and promote transparent and accountable public administration.

Through closer cooperation among relevant authorities and improvements to the legal and regulatory framework, the initiative sought to promote effective, fair, and consistent law enforcement and achieve tangible and sustainable outcomes. Ultimately, these efforts were intended to strengthen public confidence in government institutions and reinforce trust in the integrity, transparency, and accountability of public administration.
