On Monday, 31 August 2026, under the direction of Mr. Bhumivisan Kasemsook, Secretary-General of the PACC, Pol. Lt. Col. Siripong Sritula, Deputy Secretary-General of the PACC and Pol. Lt. Col. Sarawut Khamlueang, Director of Anti-Corruption Administration Division, together with PACC officials were assigned to observe the operations of the Phuket Provincial Screening Committee under the Hotel Act B.E. 2547 (2004), during a field visit to inspect hotel license applicants in Phuket.

This on-site inspection was led by Mr. Romdon Hayiawae, Deputy Governor of Phuket, accompanied by the Screening Committee and representatives from relevant agencies including the Phuket Provincial Office, Phuket Provincial Police, Phuket Provincial Public Prosecutor’s Office, Phuket Local Administrative Organizations, Phuket Provincial Office of Public Works and Town & Country Planning, Phuket Provincial Cultural Office, and Phuket Provincial Public Health Office. They inspected more than 8 hotel establishments to collect facts, inspect buildings and establishments in accordance with license applications, and verify overall compliance with related laws and regulations for legitimate licensing consideration.

On this occasion, the PACC delegation participated in the visit to gather information, and direct feedback on the challenges faced by hotel business operators in Phuket, especially obstacles and limitations in the licensing process. They also inquired with relevant agencies about effective solutions to ensure a comprehensive overview of the licensing and approval processes.

Additionally, the PACC provided recommendations on the operational and licensing procedures in this matter to ensure that public sector processes remain transparent, fair, swift and under the rule of law. This includes the reduction of unnecessary procedures without compromising inspection standards and legal compliance in order to boost confidence among business operators and the public.

In this regard, this on-site visit was part of driving the guidelines and measures on public sector licensing and approval processes. The PACC emphasizes mitigating corruption risks and preventing improper discretion, while promoting efficient, standardized, and accountable public service delivery for businesses and citizens. This initiative aims to elevate good governance and build sustainable trust in the public sector.
