On 3 August 2026, under the direction of Mr. Bhumivisan Kasemsook, Secretary General of the PACC, together with Mr. Akkchai Kasemsuthawat, Deputy Secretary General of the PACC, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Siripong Sritula, Deputy Secretary General of the PACC, Mr. Narongwit Suwansit, Director of the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Region 6, was assigned to lead officers from the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Region 6 Office in a joint operation with partner agencies, including the Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA), the Royal Thai Police, Tak Provincial Police, and the Immigration Bureau. The operation involved the execution of search warrants at 25 targeted locations in Mae Sot District, Tak Province, to collect evidence and apprehend individuals involved in corruption relating to the unlawful issuance of fraudulent 10-year Alien Identification Cards, including public officials suspected of abusing their authority.

The operation followed complaints that had been received and continuous investigations that had been conducted during B.E. 2565–2566 (2022–2023), which uncovered an organized scheme involving the unlawful issuance of identity cards for persons without civil registration status to foreign nationals. The investigation found that more than 1,000 identification cards had been issued unlawfully. Evidence further confirmed that at least 10 individuals were Myanmar nationals who already possessed valid Myanmar passports but nevertheless had been fraudulently registered as stateless persons and had been issued civil registration records under that status. Based on the evidence gathered, the Tak Provincial Court issued arrest warrants for individuals involved in the offences, including public officials, foreign nationals, and other accomplices acting as household owners or witnesses who had provided false information. The alleged offences included unlawfully causing oneself or another person to be entered into a house registration or civil registration record without legal entitlement, as well as misconduct in office by public officials in violation of applicable laws.

On 4 August 2026, at approximately 6:00 a.m., Police Lieutenant Colonel Siripong Sritula, Deputy Secretary General of the PACC, together with officers from the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Region 6, namely Mr. Danai Sa-ardkot, Investigator, Senior Professional Level; Mr. Sutthiwit Saksattaphayao, Investigator, Professional Level; Police Captain Somboon Inthathap, Investigator, Professional Level; and Squadron Leader Somphop Phangmacharit, Investigator, Professional Level, joined officers from the Department of Provincial Administration, Tak Provincial Police, and the Immigration Bureau in carrying out coordinated searches and arrests at the 25 targeted locations. The objective of the operation was to gather further evidence and apprehend all individuals connected with the alleged misconduct of public officials and the fraudulent issuance of 10-year Alien Identification Cards, in order to ensure that all offenders were prosecuted in accordance with the law.
